What material is the ruler/straightedge made from?
Straightedges need to be just that: straight, and with a marking/cutting edge that won't warp or dent, so your lines are always straight and exact. Anodized aluminum is the ideal material – tough, weatherproof, and lightweight. All Kapro's straightedges are made from this material, with ruler lengths covering the full range from 12" (30cm) to 4' (120cm).

Are the gradations permanently marked?
The last thing you want is a ruler whose markings will rub off or fade. The permanent UV cured screen printing on Kapro's rulers and straightedges is made to last.

What is the accuracy?
It's important to check that the manufacturer declares the accuracy of the printed scale. Kapro's rulers are guaranteed accurate to 0.7mm/m, or 0.0007 inch per inch.

How can you add features to your ruler?
Most rulers are simple tools. Some have a handle, allowing for easier marking and cutting, but they are not designed for adding other accessories.
