Professional carpenters know the importance of exact diagonal measurements. The results of inaccuracy will show up later as gaps in joints or misaligned parts. If you're using a conventional tape, then the end hook won't be able to grip corners. That's a recipe for imprecision.
Kapro has developed a unique end hook that holds fast to corners. It looks easy – and it is! No more guess-work or "good enough" measurements. The most common problems of woodworking, like badly-fitting joints or out-of-square frames, can be avoided with one simple tool. The end hook has a slot for nail heads, too.

500 Steel Power Tape
A tough, all-purpose 3/4" tape measure with scratch-resistant coating, smooth spring-loaded retraction, one-touch lock mechanism, and reinforced end hook. Available in 6' (2m), 10' (3m), 16' (5m) and 25' (8m) lengths.
